14th May 1952 to be precise
My clever mother embroidered this remarkable tablecloth.
Bordered with Scottish Thistles, Welsh Daffodils, Irish Shamrocks and English Roses
Each corner has a Coat of Arms
And in the middle is an embroidered map of London and various historic locations.
Buckingham Palace, the Royal Mews and Hyde Park Corner
I love the giraffes at Regents Park Zoo
And the serpent in the Serpentine.
This is an Heirloom, a work of art, yet many would dispute this as it is an embroidery created by an ordinary housewife. All I Know is that I will never part with it. It is a little piece of English History. I hope that you enjoy it as much as I do
